The buses left 2 hours late. I don’t know if it was someone’s fault at the school who was in charge, regardless, we paid $150 and I expect my child to arrive on time. Not be late to the park by 2 hours. Apparently there were too many booked and not enough seats. What genius couldn’t do the math?! You wanted them there by 8:30 and they do not leave until 11:30, plus have over a 2 hour drive, my kid was starving, besides being highly annoyed. Do better!!

Thank you for sharing this feedback. A two-hour late departure is unacceptable, and we sincerely apologize for the impact on your child’s day. Families trusted us to run an on-time trip, and we did not meet that standard. What happened: The on-site check-in and bus-roster process took significantly longer than planned, which delayed boarding. (A school representative typically manages the roster) Total motorcoach capacity was sufficient for all registered students; however, the delay resulted from roster management at check-in and multiple students requesting to switch buses to sit with friends. What is changing immediately: Earlier check-in with firm cutoffs: Arrival will be earlier, and the manifest will lock at a set time to prevent last-minute delays. Legacy-managed bus lists: Legacy Youth Travel will manage bus assignments instead of the school. Students will select their bus at check-in, receive a matching wristband, and remain on that same bus for the return. Faster boarding: Additional staff, clearly marked lanes, and a close-out lead for each bus will expedite departure once capacity is reached. Chaperone alignment: A pre-trip meeting with teacher chaperones will confirm roles, responsibilities, and the final bus list. Food and comfort: We recognize the delay pushed back lunch in the park. Snack packs were provided at boarding that included Pop-Tarts, oranges, Nutri-Grain bars, donuts, mini muffins, and apple or orange juice so students could eat en route to the park. I know every student was provided a snack pack bag. For 2026, we will add an optional pre-order breakfast add-on for families who want a more substantial meal before departure. We also encourage students to eat breakfast prior to arrival since it is a long day. We appreciate your candor. Your feedback is driving these improvements so future trips run on time. If you would like to discuss further, please contact Crystal Ackins at 313-588-0912 or [email protected].

I felt as if maybe we should’ve met earlier so we can leave right on time. I had a great time but it was so cold that I caught a cold ;Maybe we should go in like the end of September. Maybe after we check in we pick our own bus we want to get on then we get on that bus again after we leave; i know that’s what yall do but its us picking our own bus. So we wouldn’t have so many troubles coming back home.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback and for traveling with us to Cedar Point. It is greatly appreciated. Your suggestion regarding arriving earlier is absolutely correct. Our goal is always to ensure a smooth and timely departure, and meeting earlier will support a more efficient start. Following your feedback, our team has already decided to adjust our check-in process for future trips. Regarding the bus assignments, typically the school manages the motor coach lists. However, we recognize that this has created challenges when returning home. Going forward, Legacy Youth Travel will take full ownership of bus assignments. Students will be able to select the bus of their choice at check-in. Once a bus reaches capacity, it will be closed, ensuring that everyone remains on their chosen bus for both departure and return. For students who wish to ride together, arriving as a group during check-in will help secure desired seating arrangements. Your observations are both helpful and aligned with the improvements already underway. Thank you again for your participation and thoughtful insight. We look forward to creating an even better experience for you on future tours. Warm regards, Legacy Youth Travel
